Sarah Richardson.....


....is a violist who performs and teaches in Colorado.  In a 30-year professional career she has played in 20 orchestras and 4 string quartets in 10 cities; taught private lessons and public school classes and founded and directed a youth orchestra.  With a dual interest in the creative arts, Sarah has taught local demos and classes, taught classes at a national convention, created sample work for craft companies and contributed to RubberStampMadness, Stamper’s Sampler and Somerset Studio Magazine.  In 2010 Mrs. Richardson launched Beyond-Do Re Mi, a resource for musicians that welcomes creatives to a supportive community, addresses blocks that impede creative flow and encourages growth through creative play.  Recently, she has integrated technology and social media into teaching and performing with vlogs, iPad apps in her private studio and the TwtrSymphony.  Sarah is currently at work on a new ezine, "Outlet Zine" for people who would like to live a more satisfying life, which will launch late in 2012.


My Journey....


….began at the trailing edge of the baby boom.  Born to artistic and musical parents, our homes were explosions of saturated color.   I grew up watching my mother lovingly and painstakingly sew Easter dresses and coats.  Saturday mornings I painted with my dad while he studied Japanese brush art on channel 13.  We listened to Beethoven and opera and Frank Sinatra, whose music was reserved for Saturday evening cocktails.
